Our purpose is to express Jesus' love in a tangible way through the gift of a quilt. We meet eight times per ministry year to make simple quilts to give to the Fox Valley Pregnancy Center in South Elgin and the Evangelical Child and Family Agency in Wheaton. Our desire is that Patchworks function as a ministry, not as a quilting group. Quilts are merely the means we use to touch others' lives with Jesus' love.
A sewing machine in good working order, basic sewing supplies and neutral thread are necessary but quilting experience is not - we have many members who are willing to teach the basics of quilting. Fabric and batting are provided, or you may bring your own. We invite you to join us!
Meets:East Campus, Rooms 201-202, from 9:30 a.m.--Noon, usually the second Saturday of the month.
Next Meeting: June 12, 9:30 - Noon. Please bring any completed quilts for our June donation to the Evangelical Child and Family Agency and the Fox Valley Pregnancy Center. There will be no Patchworks meetings in July or August.
2010-11 meeting dates: September 11, October 9, November 13, January 8, February 12, March 12, April 9, and June 11.
