Same Life, New Story

Welcome to Moms Together, a program created to affirm and encourage mothers of infants through elementary-age children.  Our morning together includes breakfast, time for conversation, informative speaker presentations and discussion groups.

At Moms Together, women can relax, laugh and build friendships. Moms also receive helpful insights that can encourage them to grow as women, wives, and mothers.

If you would like to be added to our email list, please let us know.

Take a Pass on the Sass: Teaching Our Children to Communicate Positively With Their Words, Tones and Attitudes

Is the tone a little deafening in your house?  Is the word smart not referring to your child's IQ?  Perhaps it's time for a lot less sass and a ton more class!  Join us as we tackle one of the great mothering challenges -- dealing with the words, tones and attitudes that our darlings like to share with us.  Is there any hope that we can help them share in a way we would like to hear?  Absolutely!  But be prepared as we may have to take a quick look at our own "sharing."  We all need a few tools in our belt in this area because sometimes what comes out of our litttle angel's mouth is less than heavenly!  Julie Dougherty is the mother of four, two college girls and two teen boys, and wife of 27 years to Kevin.  They are part of the First Baptist Church of Geneva community where Julie has been teaching Bible Study for nine years.  Julie loves being a mom, her heart's desire, and encouraging other moms on this very multi-faceted road.  Julie is a gifted storyteller who is sure to make us laugh with her own stories of sass!

Meets: First and Third Thursday of the month (identical programs), October - May, 9:15 - 11:15 a.m., West Campus, 3435 Keslinger Road, Geneva

Discussion Groups: After enjoying breakfast together and hearing the speaker's presentation, women have time to share ideas and reflect on application questions with others at their table. Each woman is assigned to a discussion group for the year. Moms are encouraged to indicate on the registration card if there is someone with whom they would like to be seated.

Kids Together: While mothers are enjoying their morning, their young children will also be enjoying a quality, age-appropriate program. Bible stories, games, crafts, and snacks are highlights. Kids Together is available for children birth through Kindergarten. Childcare rooms open at 9:00 a.m.

Cost: $6 for Mom only, $8 for Mom and one child, $10 for Mom with two or more children. Fee includes child care, refreshments, program, and speaker. If any of the fees prevent you from attending, please request a scholarship when registering.

Registration: To register, fill out a registration card at the FBCG Welcome Center on either campus; email Moms Together; or call 630.232.7068x137. Include program date and names and ages of children attending.

Living with Less so Your Family has More

Our culture believes that bigger is better.  But when it comes to raising a family, many families find that simply isn't true.  Giving our family less materially can actually provide more relationally.

Living with Less so Your Family has More promises to strengthen your vision for your family, identify the attitudes and actions to live that vision out, and help you stand up to the adult peer pressure that surrounds you daily.  Mark and Jill have lived the less is more life for nearly 22 years.  Let them help you redefine your priorities in order to keep family first.
