Deep Waters is a discussion group for Christian women who want to be challenged in their faith, like to read, and enjoy sharing their thoughts with others. Books chosen for this group are usually theological classics as well as a few particularly influential contemporary works. There is no membership for Deep Waters. You may jump into the book group at any time throughout the year. We welcome newcomers!
Meets: Four times this year, Tuesdays, 7 - 8:30 p.m. at Graham's 318 (second floor) in Geneva.

October 6, 2009: "Torn Veil" by Gulshan Esther. A physically crippled Muslim woman becomes intrigued with Christ while reading the Quran. After praying to Him, God answers her desperate search for healing. This convinces her of Christ's love and power to save.
December 1, 2009: "I Told the Mountain to Move" by Patricia Raybon. If you've ever struggled as a family, you will relate to Raybon's story of learning to pray like she never had before. This is not another "how to pray" book. Several friends have told me they couldn't put it down.
February 2, 2010: "Hitler's Cross" by Erwin Lutzer. Christianbooks.com says of "Hitler's Cross", "The Monstrosity of Adolph Hitler's 'Third Reich' remains a stunning chapter in the pages of history. Although the power by which he hypnotized an entire nation is legendary, one question in particular begs an answer: Where was the church of Christ?"
April 6, 2010: Epicenter, "Why The Current Rumblings in the Middle East Will Change Your Future" (2008 printing), by Joel Rosenberg. Publisher says, "Rosenberg takes readers on an unforgetable journey through prophecy and current events into the future of Iraq after Saddam, Russia after Communism, Israel after Arafat, and Christianity after radical Islam."
