Sterling A. Moore
Senior High School Pastor
Family:
Sherry (wife) Emma (4) and Alaina (2)
Responsibilities:
As pastor of Senior High School ministries, my responsibilities include the planning, oversight and facilitating the various ministry programs and to build relationships with students and the volunteer staff.
Background (childhood, education, previous experience):
I grew up in a small town in Ohio where the church played a fundamental role in my faith development and understanding of grace. The youth ministry in that church was very instrumental in my discipleship process and was a big part of the reason that I choose to pursue student ministry as a career. God led me to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and where I majored in Christian Education and Youth Ministry. After receiving my degree from Moody, I took a position in Wheaton, Illinois in their student ministry department and continued my education at Wheaton Graduate School. After nearly nine years serving the church in Wheaton, God has led my family and I to FBCG to continue serving Him in fulltime student ministries.
Ministry Objectives/Vision:
As a passionate follower of Jesus Christ, I seek to use my gifts and abilities to further the Kingdom of God by encouraging students to cultivate a living and active relationship with Christ through strengthening personal disciplines, following Christ’s example of service, and involvement in the Lord’s body.
Ministry Philosophy:
I believe that spiritual development happens best in the context of community. My hope is that genuine relationships are developed and become the means wherein students are able to pursue Christ together.

Greatest Satisfactions:
My greatest satisfaction comes when I see a student become engaged in the Kingdom of God, grow in their understanding of faith through the Word of God and use their gifts in service.
Greatest Challenges:
Understanding how to balance the work of ministry, the personal development of my own faith and maintain meaningful relationships with my family.
Vision for the Future:
To development relationships and ministries that allow us to meet students in the context of their culture with the transforming truth of the gospel.
