Missions and Service Opportunities

We believe that it is essential for our students to understand the importance of serving others as a part of their walk with Jesus. Because of this, we offer a variety of opportunities, both local and international, where students can experience different social, racial, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Some examples are two week mission trips to Quito, Equador, and the Czech Republic, and a 5-day trip to the South Side of Chicago. Small groups also have a variety of local service opportunities.

Roseland Christian Ministries

For nearly a decade, TREK has been partnering with Roseland Christian Ministries on the South Side of Chicago. This is a ministry that hosts us every summer for our annual Tier #1 Mission Trip. RCM is a comprehensive ministry to the people of Roseland, offering a Women’s and Chilrden’s Shelter, a food pantry, a free medical care facility, a drop in center, a city of Chicago warming center, a resale shop, a soup Kitchen and a church for evangelism and discipleship. TREK has been blessed by this partnership and we have learned so much from the church and the community.

This Christmas season, TREK is seeking to give something back to RCM. As a result of the economical situation and the stress on the state of Illinois ’ budget has resulted in serious loss of funding for this vital ministry. People are depending on RCM for simple things like a hot meal, a warm place to settle in and even just a bathroom.

Our goal in TREK is this Christmas Season is to raise $3,000 to help the church and the Shelter combine facilities and reduce their monthly costs.

You can now donate to Roseland using PayPal. Just click on the Donate button and you can enter any amount to give $1, $100 (or more) and anything in between.
