Tier I: Summer Serve
Roseland – Chicago South Side June 18-23, 2010
Leader: Sterling Moore
Description: Roseland Christian Ministries exists to serve the Lord and the people of Roseland on Chicago's South side. This is a not-for-profit organization that offers a range of supportive services to the community, including: a drop-in center serving hot meals twice daily, Interim housing for women and their children, City of Chicago registered warming center, a food pantry, and thrift store.
Summer Serve students do work projects for the Ministry Center as well as work on houses in the neighborhood that the Center has purchased for rehab. Students also host a neighborhood cook out and children’s play time at the center on one day, and prepare and serve breakfast at a local church on Sunday morning.
