FBCG Student Mission Purpose

Student Ministry at FBCG is founded on the vision that students are made for adventure, spiritual growth, and a longing to make a difference in their world. We believe students will find such adventure and growth through personal commitment to following Christ as their Lord. One goal of our Student Ministry is to encourage students to experience the realities of Christian faith in personal and tangible ways by serving others.

EXPOSE

We want groups to see missions & the world in a whole new way. We program so that they receive maximum exposure to diverse cultures, missionary groups & the national evangelical movement. We believe that through exposure, it creates an awareness that will change that person’s life forever.. We believe that through exposure, it creates an awareness that will c

SERVE

We provide opportunities for our groups to get their hands dirty in hands on ministry. Whether it be a work project, a children's program or a ministry of compassion, we want our groups to be involved in serving, and in serving they share the love of God that lives within them.

CHALLENGE

We want people that come with short-term teams to be challenged not only in their involvement in missions, but in their personal relationship with Christ. Our goal is not to challenge each person to become a missionary. We want to challenge them to be obedient to God no matter where He calls you to serve, and no matter what He calls you to do.

BUILD PARTNERS

An added benefit of groups coming through Quito is that it allows us to present our ministry to a number of new churches & individuals each year. We want to challenge everyone that comes to Quito to commit to praying for the ministry of Youth World. We also want to provide interested individuals & churches with the opportunity to get more involved with our ministry on a regular basis.

FBCG Student Missions History

The FBCG Student Missions experience was born in the summer of 1987, when Pastor Brian Coffey took a group of students to rural Mexico to work with Food for the Hungry. In 1988 and 1989, teams traveled to the Dominican Republic with Young Life International. The 1990-1993 “YES!” teams also went the Dominican Republic, but to work with an orphanage there.
