Welcome Parents!

FBCG Student Ministries values serving families and partnering with parents. We are here to support you in your role of equipping your student to be a lifelong Christ follower. It is our intent to supplement the spiritual nurturing that is already going on in your family.

The average child will spend over 1000 hours every year in school and they will spend less than 50 hours in church.  The average parent has more than 10 times (3000 hours) the opportunities to discuss spiritual issues in one year than a church leader does in 10 years.  The church has limited potential to impact the heart of your child.  WHAT HAPPENS AT HOME in many ways is more important than what happens at church!

Our Student Ministry Team is here for you and wants to:

(i)nform parents
(i)nvolve parents
(i)nspire parents

We hope you will visit this site often.

Communication

The Ministry realizes the importance of regular communication with parents through the following methods: relationships, newsletters, parent letters and e-mails. Whenever you have questions please don't hesitate to call 630.232.7068 and ask to speak with someone on our student ministry team.  You can also email any of the student ministry pastors (or saegan@fbcg.com) and ask to be included in an email distribution list that will keep you abreast of what is on the horizon for your student.

Serving Together: Creating Meaningful Family Service Experiences (pdf)
A great resource for families who want to serve together.

As students are growing in their faith journey, one of the best things that we can do as the faith community is to come alongside students in order to show them the vital components to faith expression, such as celebrating the Lord’s Supper.

In an even bigger way, at FBCG Student Ministries, we believe that one of the most important pieces to a student’s faith journey is to build faith at home. On March 23rd, we’ll connect these two pieces into a Communion Workshop created specifically for families with elementary and middle school students.

More than anything, we want to equip families to have discussions and go deep with the Lord’s Supper as a family, but also be sensitive to the fact that at FBCG, we encourage only those who have made a faith commitment to participate in the Lord’s Supper. So while we won’t be administering the Lord’s Supper, we as a community will be going deep into the meaning and practice of communion on Tuesday, March 23rd.

We’ll gather in the Alpha Room at WEST Campus from 7pm to 8:15pm. If you are planning on attending, please RSVP to Sue Ann at saegan@fbcg.com!
