Why are we doing this again?

While we did conduct a “Prepare the Way” effort to reduce our debt two years ago, we would like to continue to reduce the debt that remains (see below). We simply believe that continuing to reduce our debt will put us in a position to invest more boldly in our ministries and facilities as FBCG continues to grow. 

How much debt does FBCG currently carry?

FBCG currently carries a little less than $2.1 million in debt from our “Building on Faith” campaign of 2003-2006. With total assets of some $13 million and healthy congregational giving, FBCG is in good financial shape. This existing debt is primarily being serviced through our General Budget, but we would like to reduce it as much as possible before taking on another construction phase.

What is the plan for the future?

Our leadership is currently in the process of reviewing FBCG ministry needs and clarifying a vision for future facility development. In order to reach, connect, equip and serve more people and families, future plans could include the expansion of the West Campus as well as the pursuit of other venues.

How do I make a contribution to "Prepare the Way?"

If you have giving envelopes, simply write the amount of your gift next to the “Prepare the Way” line or write “Prepare the Way” or “PTW” on the memo line of your check. You can also give to Prepare the Way online at our website.

Is this in addition to my giving to the General Fund?

Yes! A significant portion of our General Fund giving takes place at the end of the year so we encourage gifts to the Prepare the Way campaign to be above and beyond regular giving.

What about the Building Fund?

The Building Fund is used for a variety of purposes having to do with our facility needs – including architectural and construction drawings for our next phase of facility expansion. Prepare the Way is focused solely on debt reduction. You are invited to participate in either or both opportunities.
