New FBCG Governance Proposal
At the Annual meeting on August 28, the membership will be asked to vote on a new set of bylaws. The principle change will be to eliminate the multiple board structure we currently operate under and replace it with a single board structure. These changes would allow FBCG to become more effective in ministry as we grow toward the future God has for us. It will result in a governance structure similar to most churches in Converge Worldwide (formerly Baptist General Conference) and provide more accountability by the staff. The membership will be asked to vote on the Amended bylaws of August 28,2011 and the related Transition Plan The additional links below provide further detail on the proposed bylaw changes.
2011-2012 Proposed Budget
The Executive Council is proposing a budget of $3,150,000 for the fiscal year 2011-2012. This is a 5% increase over the current year budget. For more information click here
FBCG Governance Task Force
What is Governance? It's the method by which we govern or manage First Baptist Church of Geneva.
Purpose of the Task Force: A special Governance task force has been sponsored by the FBCG Executive Council to help investigate, understand and form recommendations for change to the governance structure and organizational policies at FBCG. The interaction between roles of members, boards and staff need to be reviewed, adjusted and realigned to support the mission and objectives of FBCG while ensuring that we operate in the most effective and efficient manner.
