Giving

At FBCG we believe giving is both a privilege and a responsibility. Giving is a privilege because when we give we not only express our worship and thanksgiving to God, but we actually participate in what he is doing all over the world. Giving is a responsibility because God expects us to give and when we give we express a sense of belonging with our church family.

At FBCG we believe the Bible teaches God wants our giving to come from the heart – that is – motivated by love, not by obligation. Furthermore, we believe that the Biblical standard for giving is “generously.”

Our hope is that whether you have been giving faithfully for many years or are just getting started in this part of your spiritual journey,  you will feel a deep sense of God’s pleasure as you grow in generosity!

At FBCG there are several ways to give.

  • During offering time at one of our worship services.  Request giving envelopes.
  • Using electronic bill payment. Use your bank's software or other software (e.g. Quicken) to give to FBCG just like you would pay an electronic bill.
    • Payee: First Baptist Church of Geneva
    • Address: 2300 South Street, Geneva, IL 60134
Be sure to indicate on the memo line how you would like to allocate your check.
  • Automatic withdrawal from your bank account. Giving Registration Form
  • “Gift-in-kind” of stock or property. Contact Eric Harris for more information.

Financial Biblical Studies

Can you imagine what it would be like to be out of debt?  More than 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Thirty-three percent of Christian marriages end in divorce, and money problems are the number one cause.   Did you know there are 2350 verses in the Bible dealing with how we should handle money -- more than any other topic! Beginning this September First Baptist is offering two courses to help you get control of your finances by applying God’s word in practical ways.
