An Ordinary Day with Jesus

This course, written by John Ortberg and Ruth Barton, looks at various aspects of an ordinary day and how we can connect with Jesus in those moments.

Course participants will learn how to:

  • Wake up and go to sleep in Jesus’ name
  • Review your day with God
  • Use training rather than trying to become more like Jesus
  • Learn from difficult people
  • Silence competing voices in order to hear God’s leadings
  • Experience time alone with God as an opportunity rather than an obligation
  • Use your own unique spiritual pathway to connect with God
  • Eliminate hurry and simplify your pace of life

You will learn that experiencing God’s presence in your everyday life doesn’t necessarily mean doing new things. It means doing the
things you already do, but in new way.

Topics covered during the eight sessions are: Living in Jesus’ Name, Everyday Relationships, Work, Leadings, Solitude, Spiritual Pathways, Pace of Life, and Making the Ordinary Extraordinary.

Meets: Sundays, 9:45 a.m.

East Campus, Quads, April 13 to May 4
