Debbie became a student leader for InterVaristy while attending the College of Dupage in the late 1980s.   She lead teams of students and taught them to plan outreach events, specifically events for reaching non-Christian friends.  Debbie transferred to the University of Illinois and continued her leadership role for InterVarsity.  That's where she met her husband, Mike, who was also involved with InterVarsity there.  After getting her degree in Journalism, she was recruited as an InterVarsity staff member and has been on staff with them for over 18 years. 

Presently, Debbie is an administrator for the co-regional Director who is in charge of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and parts of Michigan.  She does online recruiting and phone interviews with potential campus staff. Debbie and Mike have 2 sons Brandon (Oct. 5, 1999) and Luke (Aug. 21, 2004) and live in Batavia, IL.
