Christmas Eve Offering Update:
Thanks to generosity from FBCG attendees, the Helwigs are now able to distribute over 3,000 libraries in a box and minister to pastors across Nigeria.
The Helwig's Story:
In 2002, Dorothy and Art were members of FBCG who became very concerned about the HIV/AIDS issue in Africa.
Through a series of events, they realized that HIV/AIDS was a moral and spiritual issure before it became a medical issue, and felt God calling them to be involved in helping people understand the moral and spiritual aspect of this pandemic.
In 2004, they headed to Nigeria where they established a non-government organization (GECHAAN - Gembu Centre for HIV/AIDS Advocacy Nigeria), a foster care program for orphans, and an HIV/AIDS clinic. They are branching out into three additional counties with the current program and hope to establish a church planting ministry through the use of TEE (Theological Education by Extension).
